STRENGHTENING Ingredients DISTRIBUTION ASSETS
Acquisition of a majority stake in Arbore, an Italian distribution company operating in the Ice & Bakery sector, with over 50 years of experience in semi-finished products for artisanal gelato makers.
Through this transaction, Disaronno Ingredients launches DIS Distributing Excellence, a platform dedicated to wholesale and cash & carry activities in Ice & Bakery and HoReCa.

Acquisition of a 20% stake in Albedo, an Italian distillery producing Made in Italy whiskies such as Strada Ferrata. In the same year, the Spirits portfolio further expands with the acquisition of Engine, 100% organic, another Italian excellence in gin production.

Acquisition of a majority stake in Sagamore Spirits Distillery, based in Baltimore, in the United States, leading producer specializing in rye whiskey.

Following international success in Europe and especially in the United States, the Group underwent a major transformation during the 1970s and early 1980s. This phase marked the beginning of a strategic expansion of its portfolio through acquisitions.

Driven by growing recognition and success, Domenico Reina Coloniali evolves after World War II into ILLVA SARONNO (Industria Lombarda Liquori Vini & Affini), transitioning from a family-run business to a structured company.
1900
Domenico Reina brought the family’s secret recipes to the public for the first time by opening a shop in Saronno named Domenico Reina Coloniali. Domenico developed a clear vision: to evolve the family tradition, creating a contiguous workshop and making the production and sale of liqueurs into the core activity.

Giovanni Reina rediscovers the recipe of the liqueur gifted to Bernardino Luini and adds it to the family’s collection of artisanal preparations, alongside homemade liqueurs, digestives, and medicinal remedies.

According to the legend, the artist Bernardino Luini, a brilliant pupil of Leonardo da Vinci was commissioned to embellish the Sanctuary of Saronno dedicated to the Madonna of Miracles.
To portray the Madonna, he chose as his muse a beautiful local innkeeper. As a mark of her gratitude, she prepared for the artist a special gift of a flask full of amber liqueur, fragrant and delicate.
